dots & chevrons

Tights are quickly becoming my new obsession, replacing my previous infatuation with scarves. They are not only super practical in the winter for keeping your legs from freezing off and, lets be honest, disguising leg stubble, but also are a cheap way to change up your look. For five to ten bucks (of fifteen if you're really going at it), you can create tons of new outfits.

One thing I've learnt from my crusades in hosiery, however, is to avoid plain sheer tights at all costs. I bought a pair from Forever 21 and, although it may have been partly due to the fact that they cost less than four dollars, they tore after one wear. I am from now on opting for sheer tights with an opaque pattern, such as the chevron in this outfit, because the pattern acts as reinforcement for the flimsy sheer material.
