I thought I'd come to you today with a bit of a less formal post and give you a little more insight into my life and my hometown. Although DC is certainly not the world's fashion capital, it has some upsides, like it's architecture, cupcakes, life-sized wooly mammoth displays, and (you guessed it) ice cream festivals. This one is held every year in late June on the top level of Union Market, in this somewhat shabby but well decorated warehouse. It's pretty much what you'd expect: lots of people and lots of ice cream. You can buy ice cream, get free samples, and watch little kids scarf down frozen dessert in an ice cream eating contest (get 'em started young, America).
